ways that one would hesitate to regard it as a continuation of the
theories broached therein – although to some extent it is – so much as

as logically definitive and thematically exacting as is humanly
possible, and therefore even more philosophically comprehensive. Thus
whilst this title may not appeal to everyone, on account of its sheer
complexity, it should satisfy the curiosity of those who, already
partly familiar with the author's mature, or late-period, writings,
would like to see just how he has progressed and exactly why he
considers this to be his ultimate, and therefore definitive,
theoretical book, one that should surely place him right at the
